Scuba diving tour (must show proof of dive certification) in Playa Hermosa, Gulf of Papagayo. The dive sites are perfect for beginners, certified divers, and students. Night and long-range dives to the Catalina Islands are offered for certified divers. Advanced Diver Certification is required for long-range dives to the Bat Islands (Park fees are additional if going to Bat Islands).

Transportation by car from Playa Hermosa, Playas del Coco and Playa Ocotal (or boat pickup from beach if more than 6 persons, beach conditions permitting)
Dive Rental Equipment: BCD (buoyancy compensator device), regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel, dive computer

- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some preexisting medical conditions (ie asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive.
- Gear/equipment sanitised between use
- Hand sanitiser available to travellers and staff
- Multi-lingual guide: Spanish and English
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Paid stay-at-home policy for staff with symptoms
- Regular temperature checks for staff
- Social distancing enforced throughout experience
- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- A minimum number of people is need per booking for the following tours: 4 people per booking is required for CATALINA ISLAND DIVE TRIP (Long-Range) 4 people per booking is required for NIGHT DIVES 6 people per booking is required for BAT ISLAND DIVE TRIP
- All passengers must sign waiver/release of liability prior to boarding boat
- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended.
- Face mask recommended when traveling in transportation vehicles
- Guides required to regularly wash hands
- If certified diver has not been diving within past 12 months, dive operator reserves right to refuse to take certified diver unless Refresher Course is taken (at additional charge).

Really enjoyed letting Nadine take the stress and guesswork out of vacationing!! Thank you for setting us up with a phenomenal dive shop, and for the amazing tour to see the sloths and wildlife in the rainforest. Very helpful restaurant recommendations around our hotel was appreciated as well. We couldn't have asked for a better trip!!

We saw 2 white tip sharks, eels, sting rays, octopus, trumpet fish, and lots more.
Dive masters were very knowledgeable and helpful. Great customer service.

Rocket Frog was the dive provider. Their fully stocked dive shop is on the main street in coco beacg, and their boats are anchored in coco bay. TripAdvisor didn’t say which company I was using, so I didn’t know until I got picked up.
I rented equipment from them and it all worked great. I felt very safe.
The water was a little murky, but the visibility was maybe 20’. We saw rays, a few white tip sharks, lots of porcupine fish, a shoal of jack fish, and the occasional octopus.
While above water, the seas were calm, below there were moderate currents and surge.
After the first dive the crew provided fresh pineapple, cookies, and water.
The dive group was between 10-15 people, and I didn’t feel overly crowded.
I was a solo diver, but on every dive there was always a small group of 3-4 with one dive master.
They offer nitrox, so if you want that, be sure to ask in advance.
I would recommend diving with Rocket Frog.

Exceeded expectations! Our travel agency partnered with Bill Beard group for our Costa Rica vacation -- coordinated our diving with Rocket Frog, shuttle transports, Sloth / Monkey Rainforest Adventure, ZIpLine, ATV, Hanging Bridges, Tortilla Making at Mara's Home. Nadine at Bill Beard's was instrumental in coordinating our entire trip- Best! We were kept well informed from day 1 on all events, plans, modification and points of contacts. Transportation to and from the airport, hotel and excursions were taken care of and on time. Bill Beard's staff was easy to get ahold of for questions. They went way above and even booked our meals at the signature restaurants. Bottle of champagne in the room was nice greeting.
They booked our scuba diving with Rocket Frogs. Great service from pick up to drop off. Boat staff very friendly and professional with dive master to client ratio being no more than 4 people. Shout out to Vasco and Mac. Dive sites were good something to see on every dive. Concierge service for taking care of gear was really appreciated.
Best excursion river tubing...super fun and the guides there were very attentive.
Occidental Hotel was good depending where you are you could have some walking up hill. Buffet food was good but repetitive, the specialty restaurants were very good.

The scuba experience was amazing. Just a little trouble confirming the pick-up information, especially when Tripadvisor didn't show the contact info. I had to find the number through their website and tried all methods to reach out.
